Craig Mercer, Chief Research Officer and Head of ESG at Dalton Investments, was back on the investing podcast, Shares for Beginners where he discussed return on equity. According to Mercer, “I would sort of characterize return on equity somewhat like an onion, you know, and first glance it’s just an onion. But as you sort of begin to look at it in more detail, you’re peeling back layers and layers. You, you come to the realization that actually there’s a lot of things that go into understanding, you know, what return on equity is.”
