Dalton’s Global Equities strategy is managed by Gifford Combs, a founding member of Dalton with more than 25 years’ experience as a bottom-up, value investor. Gifford has managed both Long/Short and Long Only equity portfolios for both domestic and international institutions.

Mr. Combs manages the Dalton Global Equity Long/Short strategy by building portfolios using strict business valuation discipline.  He strives to own a diverse group of well-managed, undervalued companies, while hedging overall portfolio risk through opportunistic short sales of shares that are overvalued and by holding cash.   Returns are generated by taking concentrated positions in liquid names with little turnover and limited use of leverage.  Gifford manages Long Only Global Equity mandates using a similar investment approach.
