Pedro Zevallos and Iain Douglas Join Dalton Investments

Santa Monica, CA (September 1, 2017) – Dalton Investments is pleased to announce the hire of two new employees, Pedro Zevallos, Co-Portfolio Manager, Global Emerging Markets, and Iain Douglas, Senior Vice President of Business Strategy.

Zevallos will be a Co-Portfolio Manager on the newly launched Global Emerging Markets Strategy (GEMS), which will capitalize on opportunities primarily in Asia Pacific, Latin America, emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Zevallos is the founder of Matador Capital, a Latin American equity long/short fund, and has over 20 years of experience with managing global equities. Before founding Matador in 2011, he managed a concentrated portfolio of Latin American investments for Maverick Capital, a Dallas-based long/short equity fund, for nine years. He is fluent in three languages and will bring his extensive expertise in Latin America and emerging Europe, the Middle East and Africa to this new strategy.

Douglas has over 10 years of investment experience. Before joining Dalton, he was a Senior Investment Consultant at Willis Towers Watson, where he led the Global Emerging Markets Equity manager research team. In this role, Douglas was responsible for the team which researched and rated active Emerging Markets Equity strategies and led the manager research team’s efforts in multi-manager equity portfolio construction.

With the addition of Zevallos and Douglas to Dalton’s existing Asia team of twelve investment professionals led by James B. Rosenwald III, Dalton’s Co-founder and Senior Portfolio Manager for Asia strategies, Dalton looks forward to applying her opportunistic, value-oriented, investment philosophy across the global emerging equity markets.
